A REAL TEXAS BEAUTY
Special Edition’08 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Resistol
Is A Mega Cab Fit For Card-Carrying CowboysA tug of the hat to the
hard-ridin’, steer-wrestlin’, buckle-wearin’ cowboys in the Lone Star
State. Ya’ll got yourselves one fine lookin’ Dodge Ram to roam the range.
And from what we can see, the 2008 Resistol Edition Dodge Ram Mega Cab is
going to make ropers and riders outside the Texas borders pretty jealous.
Never heard of Resistol? Then y’alls not much of a cowboy. Resistol is
the undisputed king of cowboy hats and has claimed top-position in felt
hat sales longer than most of Texas’ young rodeo bucks have been alive.
The
slick part of this whole Dodge deal is when you buy the Resistol Edition
Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Mega Cab (MSRP: $48,310)—a Resistol Black Gold 20X
comes as part of the truck’s standard features.
“Dodge Ram Mega Cab is popular with customers because it gives them
more,” says Mike Accavitti, Director – Dodge Brand and SRT Marketing and
Communications, Chrysler LLC. “More room, more comfort, more capability
and more practicality. Our partnership with Resistol – one of America’s
best names in Western wear – gives us the opportunity to add yet another
‘more’ to the list: more exclusivity.”
The hat comes with a new 2008 Resistol Edition Dodge 3500 Laramie Mega
Cab diesel dually, available in either 4x2 or 4x4 configurations. Horse-
and cattle-toting power comes from the new 350hp 6.7-liter Cummins
turbodiesel ahead of a six-speed automatic.

And just so you and everyone else around knows your Resistol Edition
Mega Cab is unique, a special Khaki two-tone paint job, full-length
stainless steel tubular side steps, and custom Resistol badges on each
“B”-pillar set it apart from any other Dodge Ram on the road.
Cowboys (and girls!) like their comfort along with struttin’ good
looks, so the boys at Dodge took care of that by outfitting the interior
of the Resistol Ram with Yuma and Graystone premium leather seating
embossed with the distinctive Resistol cowboy hat logo. Heavy-weight floor
mats also sport the Resistol-logo so it’s easy to keep the field frisbees
from staining the plush carpet.
Dodge says this is a very “limited production run,” so if you have a
hankerin to put one of these beauties in your stable, best be gittin a
move on.
As I heard one Texan cowboy say when he got his first look at a
Resistol Edition Ram, “Standin’ tall and lookin’ good in the saddle just
took on a whole new meaning.” I couldn’t agree more.–Bruce W. Smith
