One-Key lock technology for Tundra, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Rav-4, Highlander, Landcruiser and 4-Runner

Now Toyota owners can enjoy single-key convenience, using their ignition key to unlock toolboxes, bike racks, trailers, gates and storage areas.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – STRATTEC Security Corporation, a leading automotive lock and key manufacturer, has expanded its BOLT product line to encompass a wide range of Toyota’s most popular automobiles and trucks, including the Tundra, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Rav-4, Highlander, Landcruiser and 4-Runner.

BOLT locks are designed to boost convenience and security through the company’s patented Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology, which permanently programs the lock to the owner’s vehicle ignition key and eliminates the need for extra keys.

Once the ignition key is inserted into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key.

“Now Toyota owners can enjoy single-key convenience, using their ignition key to unlock toolboxes, bike racks, trailers, gates, storage areas and other applications in which a lock is used in proximity to an ignition key,” said Sales Manager Erika Garcia. “Our patented technology not only helps streamline security for recreational equipment, hobbies and outdoor events, it also reduces the key clutter that tends to build up over time because numerous locks can be used with one ignition key.”

The BOLT product line for Toyota includes the Padlock 2.0, Toolbox Latch Retrofit Kit, Cable Lock, Trailer Spare Tire Lock, Lock Cylinder and the 5/8-inch and 1/2-inch Receiver Lock.

BOLT Cable Locks are made from six-foot by 1/4-inch coiled cable and feature an automotive-grade lock shutter to keep out weather and debris, as well as a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping.

BOLT Padlock 2.0 features a spring-loaded, chrome-plated 5/16″ diameter hardened steel shackle inside a crush-resistant body shell.

BOLT Receiver Locks feature a durable, stainless steel pin and an automotive-grade stainless steel lock shutter, with an auto-return spring that automatically locks when the key is removed.

BOLT Trailer Spare Tire Locks, which are manufactured with an electroless nickel-plated carbon steel pin or shaft assembly/shield for strength and durability, feature an automotive-grade stainless steel lock shutter and a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping.

BOLT Toolbox Latch Retrofit Kit features a solid zinc core and an automotive-grade cylinder with patented six-plate tumbler sidebar to prevent picking and bumping. A stainless steel lock shutter keeps out dirt and moisture.

5-lug custom wheels for light trucks and jeeps

Available in either mirror polish or black powder coating finishes, the 5-lug wheels come in such unique designs as Elite, Hero, Smash, Rush and Diamond

MIAMI, Fla. – For nearly a decade, American Force Wheels has been known for its distinctive custom-built, forged-aluminum wheels for 8-lug and 10-lug applications. Now, to meet demand for the same rugged wheels for light trucks and Jeeps, American Force is releasing its Super Single 5-lug Series featuring 10 new designs.

The new 5-lug wheels are geared toward 1/2-ton trucks like the Toyota Tundra and Dodge Ram 1500, as well as TJ and JK Jeeps.

“We’ve been listening to our customers and hearing increased demand for American Force wheels to enhance the visual appeal for light truck and Jeep owners,” said Robert Martell, general manager, American Force Wheels. “Not only have we delivered a line of custom wheels specifically to serve that market, we’ve also designed wheels in fitments ranging from 20″ X 9″ to 24″ X 14″ to satisfy a broad group of light truck enthusiasts.”

American Force’s 5-lug Series feature direct bolt-on super single wheels made from forged 6061 aluminum. Available in either mirror polish or black powder coating finishes, the 5-lug wheels come in such unique designs as Elite, Hero, Smash, Rush and Diamond. They also feature bold cut-out patterns, which can be enhanced with stand-out universal lug-nut covers in various shapes.

To ensure the proper fit for smaller wheel bases, the new 5-lug wheels required design adjustments but – in keeping with the American Force brand – the wheel designs are every bit as aggressive as those for larger trucks.

American Force’s 5-lug SS wheels are available in the following sizes:
* 20″x9″ – 0 ET, 4.5″ Backspacing, Lip 3.5″
* 20″x10″ – 25 ET, 4.5″ Backspacing, Lip 5″

DCS Offers Cummins Swap Kit for 6.4L Power Strokes

Replace the problem-prone 6.4L Power Stroke V-8 in 2008-2010 Super Duty trucks with a legendary 5.9L or newer 6.7L Cummins engine

Kalispell, Mont. – Late-model Ford Super Duty owners like their trucks. However, the recent-generation Power Stroke diesels are problem-prone. Once out of warranty, these engines’ head/head gasket and other “thermal event” issues present Power Stroke owners with a difficult choice: an expensive repair bill or trading in the truck on something more reliable.

Diesel Conversion Specialists offers a solution for Ford owners who want to keep their Super Duty trucks but want time-proven power, a kit to install a 5.9L Cummins engine: 12-valve, 24-valve or Common Rail. Benefits include improved economy, impressive towing capability, many aftermarket performance parts and legendary durability.

The conversion can be done with the cab on the truck. No firewall, core support or floorpan modifications are necessary. The Ford radiator, fan shroud and intercooler are reused.

Overview Of Conversion Kit:

Wiring Harness

Wiring varies depending on the Cummins engine used. Diesel Conversion Specialists’ installation manual includes wiring instructions for 1989-1998 12-valve and 1998.5-2002 24-valve Cummins engines. A modified 6.4L Ford harness service is included with all 2003-2009 Common Rail Cummins conversion kits. Diesel Conversion Specialists offers harness modification services for the earlier engines at the customer’s request.

5R110 Ford: The existing 6.4L Torqshift automatic transmission works well for the conversion. Customers report that it holds up well behind high-performance Cummins engines, even with the stock torque converter. Diesel Conversion Specialists supplies the adapter plate kit that uses the stock Ford starter. Enthusiasts who install a hot-rodded Cummins engine should consider an aftermarket torque converter if maximum power transfer efficiency is desired.

Diesel Conversion Specialists pre-calibrates the transmission controller for each specific truck. The DCS technician tunes the transmission based on datalogs the customer needs. The tuning process is highly customizable to meet the customer’s specific needs.

The stock Ford TCM tuning is currently an option for 2003-2007 conversions and is in development for 2008-2010 trucks.  Contact Diesel Conversion Specialists for the latest update.

ZF S6-650: The Super Duty 6-speed manual is another option that works well behind Cummins engines. Diesel Conversion Specialists offers an aircraft-aluminum adapter plate and custom flywheel to mate it to a Cummins.

Engine Mounts

Diesel Conversion Specialists makes custom mounts that allow the transmission to remain in the factory location when using electric fans, or slightly rearward to accommodate the mechanical engine-driven fan. Diesel Conversion Specialists typically recommends retaining the Cummins mechanical fan and mounting the powertrain rearward of the factory location. The rear driveshaft may need to be shortened when using the mechanical fan. The stock front shaft in 4x4s usually has long enough splines that it can be retained.

Gauges, Sensors

Diesel Conversion Specialists has a Bushing Kit that allows the Ford gauge senders to be plumbed into the Cummins engine. The kit also includes adapters for the power steering. A Crank and Cam Sensor Kit includes the necessary hardware to use the 6.4L sensors, making the Ford gauges compatible with the Cummins engine. DCS’s innovative design of incorporating the cam sensor into the adapter plate produces the Ford tach signal in a reliable OEM fashion.

Other Parts Available In Diesel Conversion Specialists Kits

• Alternator Mount: Allows the Ford 6.4L alternator to be retained along with OE warning-light functionality.

• Exhaust manifold: Manifolds for pre-2003 Cummins engines relocate the turbo for proper clearances. Additional modifications are not required when using a Common Rail Cummins.

• Cold Air Intake: This system connects to the turbo and keeps the re-usable filter in the stock location.

• A/C Manifold: This is designed to bolt to a 1994-newer Dodge A/C pump and simplify the integration of the pump into the Ford A/C system.

• Hoses: Diesel Conversion Specialists supplies the necessary radiator, heater and overflow tank hoses.

• Power Steering Pump Mount: This bracket mounts the Ford power steering pump to the Common Rail Cummins engine, providing needed steering box clearance.

Diesel Conversion Specialists can often supply other OE parts depending on your needs. (Customers often choose to source these locally.) The list includes an exhaust downpipe, intercooler tubes, throttle cable, accelerator pedal and throttle position sensor. Diesel Conversion Specialists can also supply new, used or rebuilt Cummins engines. Some customers choose to ship their trucks to Diesel Conversion Specialists and have the job professionally done.

Designed to improve engine cooling, horsepower and A/C cooling at idle

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Maradyne High Performance Fans has expanded its line of Pacesetter Series fans to include 8-inch and 9-inch fan sizes.

Ideal for use on oil coolers, transmission coolers or intercoolers, the new Pacesetter Series fans are designed to improve engine cooling, horsepower and A/C cooling at idle.  They feature a quiet, reversible S-blade design that eliminates vibration contact and increases airflow.

“Our new fans give racers and restorers a smaller alternative in our competitively priced Pacesetter Series line for combating overheating problems,” said Fred Garza, national sales manager, Maradyne High Performance Fans.  “These high-quality fans also give users an effective option for a remote-mounted cooler with a fan when there is no room in front of the radiator.”

Maradyne’s complete Pacesetter Series line ranges from 8-inch to 16-inch fans.  The fans are made from all glass-filled nylon construction and feature concentric rings that prevent the blades from flexing as they achieve maximum RPM.  The Pacesetter Series fans also have built-in mounting holes in the shroud that can be used with a tie kit or user-supplied mounting bracket.

Additional specifications include:

* The 8-inch fan (part # MP089K) delivers 391 CFM with an amp draw of 5.1.

* The 9-inch fan (part # MP099K) delivers 585 CFM with an amp draw of 6.8.

* The 10-inch fan (part # MP109K) with 90 watt heavy duty motor delivers 666 CFM with an amp draw of 4.5.

* The 11-inch fan (part # MP119K) with 90 watt heavy duty motor delivers 727 CFM with an amp draw of 7.7.

* The 13-inch fan (part # MP136K) with 160 watt heavy duty motor delivers 1,356 CFM with an amp draw of 9.4.

* The 16-inch fan (part # MP162K) with 225 watt heavy duty motor delivers 1,746 CFM with an amp draw of 12.9.

Each fan comes with a nylon tie kit and mounting instructions.  Maradyne recommends purchasing optional wire harnesses, sold separately, for the Pacesetter Series fans, including an adjustable temperature switch (part # MFA100), a wire harness with relay kit (part # MFA101), a 185-degree temperature switch (part # MFA102) or a 195-degree temperature switch (part # MFA103).

Maradyne High Performance Fans is a brand owned by DCM Manufacturing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Dreison International., Inc., which manufactures and sells air movement and air directional accessories and components serving the high performance, off-road equipment, agricultural machinery, heavy duty truck, automotive, bus, RV, marine and military markets.

Chrysler Group Second-Quarter 2012 Net Income Increased to $436 Million

With Free Cash Flow of $866 Million

Chrysler Group LLC today reported its preliminary second-quarter financial results, including net income of $436 million, an $806 million improvement from the $370 million net loss in the same quarter last year, which had included a $551 million charge related to repayment of its government loans.  Excluding the charge, net income increased $255 million, or 141 percent, period over period, as the Company continues to achieve its business targets and improve sales across all brands.

“Our results reflect a tireless pursuit by the people of Chrysler Group to deliver the very best quality and value across our brands,” said Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Together, we are always striving to achieve more, to learn from the past and build upon our successes.  Nowhere is our dedication more evident than in the all-new Dodge Dart, with up to 41 mpg highway and levels of customization not typically found in the compact car segment.”

Revenue for the quarter was $16.8 billion, up 23 percent from $13.7 billion in the second quarter of 2011, primarily driven by a 22 percent period-over-period increase in shipments. For the first six months, the Company recorded net income of $909 million on revenue of $33.2 billion.

The Company recorded a Modified Operating Profit of $755 million, or 4.5 percent of revenue, in the second quarter, up 49 percent from the $507 million reported in the prior year. The increase was attributable to strong volume and pricing, partially offset by unfavorable mix as we increased sales of cars versus trucks and SUVs, enhanced vehicle content and increased research-and-development spending for new models. Modified Operating Profit for the first half of the year was $1.5 billion.
